A periodontics specialist
in Lyon 3rd district for tailor-made care

The periodontics specialists at Studio Paro in Lyon 3rd district welcome you for tailor-made care in the heart of the Part-Dieu district. Founded in 2021 by Dr. Hervé Touati, a periodontologist trained by Dr. Jacques Charon, a reference in the field, Studio Paro favors a comprehensive approach for optimal treatment of periodontal disease.

Our goal: to help you regain healthy gums and periodontium for a long time to come.

What is medical periodontics?

The periodontics is a speciality of aesthetic and functional dentistry that brings together a range of non-invasive techniques for treating the gums and periodontium.

The periodontium is the support system for the teeth. It includes the gingiva, alveolar bone, cementum and ligament, and allows the teeth to attach to the jaw. When periodontal disease occurs, whether it’s gingivitis – which only affects the gums – or periodontitis or peri-implantitis, the cohesion of the whole can be threatened.

That’s why it’s essential to consult a specialist in periodontology, who will be able to diagnose the problem and suggest appropriate treatment to prevent the situation from worsening.

In fact, although gingivitis is an inflammation whose effects are reversible, if left untreated it can develop into periodontitis or peri-implantitis, the consequences of which can be severe.

Periodontitis occurs when pockets of virulent bacteria form between teeth and gums. Unless the progression of the disease is halted, teeth loosen and there is a progressive loss of attachment, which may even lead to tooth loss.

How does follow-up with Studio Dentaire's periodontology experts work?

When you come to our dental periodontics practice in Lyon, the practitioner who treats you will not have to resort to cumbersome and sometimes invasive surgical techniques. Our methods are gentle, effective, painless and respectful of dental tissue.

We offer each of our patients a tailor-made approach to the management of their periodontal problems. This means that when you come to see us for the first time, we start by talking to you to find out more about your needs, before carrying out a full oral check-up. This will enable us to establish a clinical diagnosis, take into account your environment (lifestyle, possible health problems…) and draw up a suitable treatment program. For periodontitis, a salivary test and x-rays are taken to determine the number of lithotripsy sessions required.

For treatments not covered by social security, such as lithotripsy, we provide you with a tailor-made quote.

This gentle sonic method uses vibrations to remove tartar from under the gums, while at the same time sanitizing periodontal pockets, making it particularly effective in halting disease progression and regaining attachment.

You will also receive a dental kit so that you can carry out local care at home before, during and after treatment.

Finally, to ensure that your smile is restored for good, a follow-up check-up is scheduled at the end of the treatment.

We firmly believe that it’s by involving our patients in their treatment that we achieve the best results. That’s why our team is here to answer your questions, guide you, reassure you and encourage you.
