Periodontal check-up: price, duration and treatment options
Periodontitis is an insidious disease which, left untreated, can have serious consequences. Specialized in the treatment of periodontal diseases, our practice has established a precise care protocol.
This begins with a fixed-price periodontal check-up, followed by a variable number of lithotripsy sessions and, finally, follow-up consultations. Find out more about Studio Paro’s services and prices.
Cost and procedure of periodontal check-up
When you make your first appointment, your practitioner will perform a periodontal assessment. This involves assessing your oral health before considering a treatment plan.
The periodontal check-up costs 285 euros. The appointment lasts an hour and a half and includes :
- an in-depth health interview ;
- an examination of your mouth and teeth;
- photographs of gums and teeth;
- a series of 18 X-rays;
- plaque sampling, followed by microscopic analysis;
- a demonstration of local gestures you can perform yourself at home.
What is the level of reimbursement for periodontal check-ups?
It’s important to know that periodontal treatments are considered “hors nomenclature” by the French social security system, which means that they are not reimbursed.
However, health insurance covers the cost of X-rays, which means that periodontal check-ups are reimbursed at a cost of around 111 euros. Diabetic patients on ALD can benefit from a lump-sum payment of 480 euros every four years for periodontal care, due to the particular risks associated with periodontitis.
How much does periodontal treatment cost?
After the initial assessment, your practitioner will propose a treatment plan to clean up the periodontal pockets. This involves 2 to 15 lithotripsy sessions at a cost of 300 euros, followed by twice-yearly follow-up consultations at a cost of 255 euros.
Apart from the coverage available to diabetics, the following reimbursement options are available for periodontal care:
- lithotripsy sessions reimbursed at 100% by certain mutual insurance companies ;
- follow-up appointment reimbursed at 43.38 euros by social security.
Is it possible to obtain payment facilities for periodontal check-ups and lithotripsy treatments?
Studio Paro offers you a quote for your periodontal treatment. This can be staggered in agreement with our care coordinator. However, this schedule does not include check-ups and follow-up consultations, which must be paid for separately.
Set up in Lyon 3rd district by Drs. Hervé and Romane Touati, Studio Paro provides personalized care for patients suffering from periodontal disease. The considerable human and technical resources involved explain the high cost of treatment. We would be delighted to offer you a sliding scale of charges, or to inform you about existing complementary health insurance packages.
