Periodontal disease and management: Studio Paro's answers
Most people make a routine visit to their dentist at least once a year. But did you know that checking the periodontium – the structure that supports your teeth – is just as important? In the event of periodontitis, the reimbursement is minimal, but some mutual insurance companies offer additional reimbursement.
Studio Paro tells you all you need to know about periodontal disease and how to cover the cost of treatment.
The cost of treating periodontitis
Studio Paro specializes in periodontal care and the treatment of periodontal disorders. We have chosen to offer you comprehensive support, at considerable human and material expense. Our treatment of periodontitis involves several stages:
- A periodontal check-up lasting an hour and a half, during which your periodontal dentist will ask you about your oral health and history, before carrying out various examinations. These include a check-up of your mouth and teeth, 18 x-rays and a series of photographs, and a plaque analysis. The cost of a periodontal check-up is 285 euros.
- Following this initial appointment, your practitioner will be able to draw up a treatment plan. Studio Paro treats periodontal disease using lithotripsy, a gentle, non-invasive technique. Depending on the number of sessions required, the cost of periodontal treatment ranges from 630 to 4,500 euros.
- Once the periodontitis has healed, your practitioner will see you again for a check-up, on average twice a year. A visit to the periodontologist costs around 255 euros.
How is periodontitis treated?
Unfortunately, lithotripsy is currently only reimbursed at a rate of 480 euros every 3 years by social security for diabetic patients on ALD only, and not at all for others. However, there are a number of schemes that cover periodontal care:
- periodontal check-ups are partially reimbursed (111 euros);
- Periodontal check-ups are reim bursed at a rate of 48 euros per session;
- for patients suffering from diabetes and benefiting from ALD, given the particular risks associated with this disease, social security reimburses periodontal care up to a maximum of 480 euros every three years;
- Finally, some complementary health insurance plans offer lump-sum payments for periodontal care: find out more from your health insurance provider.
Payment facilities for periodontitis treatment at Studio Paro
We understand the financial burden of periodontal care. That’s why, following the assessment, we draw up an estimate for the treatment of your periodontitis. For example, you have the option of paying in three instalments: 40% at the beginning of the treatment, 30% in the middle of the treatment and 30% at the end.
Our care coordinator is also available to offer you a personalized schedule for your periodontal care: don’t hesitate to get in touch with her.
