Our periodontics practice offers you much more than technical and medical expertise. We offer you personalized support, from your first appointment to the end of your treatment.
Studio Paro is based on a collaborative approach between the patient and the treatment team, fostered by a human touch and an attentive ear at all times. Don’t wait for your teeth to loosen: at the first signs of periodontal damage, such as gum pain or bleeding, come and see your periodontist in Lyon.
Periodontal disease: what is it?
The periodontics dental is a specialty that deals with the supporting structure of the teeth, i.e. the gums and jawbone, but also the ligaments and cementum. These four elements make up the periodontium.
Good oral health starts with a healthy periodontium. Apart from gingivitis, periodontal diseases are little-known. This inflammation of the gums is characterized by swelling and bleeding when brushing. If left untreated, this benign disease can develop into periodontitis, with serious consequences.
At Studio Paro, as periodontics specialistsat Studio Paro, we treat periodontal diseases such as periodontitis and peri-implantitis on a daily basis. If caught early, these conditions can be treated successfully, and your teeth and implants will stay in place.
Why consult a periodontist?
Periodontal disease presents two major risks. Firstly, they are insidious, since their symptoms can remain discreet for several years. Secondly, untreated periodontitis can lead to loosening of the teeth, through retraction of the gums. In the final stage of the disease, teeth may fall out.
What’s more, if bacteria pass into the bloodstream, there is a proven risk to general health (worsening of diabetes, cardiovascular disorders, Alzheimer’s…).
At the slightest suspicious sign, it’s vital to make an appointment for a periodontal consultation. Your periodontist is the only person who can offer you appropriate treatment.
At your first appointment at Studio Paro, you will receive a complete check-up, including a clinical examination, various x-rays of your mouth and a bacteriological test in the case of periodontitis. Depending on the results, your dentist specializing in periodontics in Lyon will explain the treatment to be considered, its duration, the periodontology fee to be applied, etc.
Your periodontal treatment at Studio Paro
Studio Paro’s team of periodontists in Lyon draws up a personalized treatment plan tailored to your specific situation. The aim is to clean up the periodontium, so that the disease can be stopped before too much damage is done.
Depending on the type of pathology and its degree of progression, periodontal treatment includes tartar removal by lithotripsy – a painless technique – and treatment at home. We provide you with a dental care kit, a prescription and all the advice you need to carry out these treatments before, during and after the in-office treatment.
Once the pathology has been eradicated, we suggest follow-up consultations spaced several months apart to avoid any risk of recurrence.
