Periodontitis treatment and reimbursement:
Studio Paro in Lyon answers your questions

Just like regular visits to your dentist, checking the condition of your periodontium, as well as appropriate treatment in case of disease, are essential for good oral health.

Social Security reimbursement for periodontitis remains modest, but some complementary health insurance organizations include this treatment in their offers.

Studio Paro in Lyon also offers you the option of paying in instalments. Find out more about our price list and the different options available to you for financing your treatment.

How much does periodontitis treatment cost?

Periodontal care requires considerable technical and human resources. This explains why the cost of treating periodontitis or peri-implantitis can seem high.

Studio Paro treats patients according to a precise protocol. Treatment for periodontitis is billed as precisely as possible. The first appointment is an hour-and-a-half-long periodontal check-up. During this session, your periodontist interviews you, examines your mouth and teeth, and takes 18 x-rays of your gums and teeth, as well as a series of photographs. A microscopic plaque analysis is performed

The cost of a periodontal check-up is 285 euros.

Only after this initial examination can your practitioner make a precise diagnosis and determine the number of lithotripsy sessions you need. The cost of periodontal treatment itself ranges from 630 to 4500 euros.

Once all sessions have been completed, your periodontologist provides follow-up consultations, usually twice a year. These appointments are usually billed at 255 euros.

How are periodontal treatments reimbursed?

Periodontal disease and how to manage it is a topic that often comes up before treatment begins. Lithotripsy sessions themselves are considered “hors nomenclature”, which means that they are not reimbursed by Social Security. However, diabetics with ALD status are entitled to reimbursement of up to 480 euros for periodontal treatment every 3 years.

The periodontal check-up is reimbursed at a rate of 111 euros. As for the check-ups that follow the treatment itself, the health insurance covers them at a rate of 48 euros per appointment.

You should also be aware that some complementary health insurance contracts include lump-sum payments for periodontal treatment. Please contact your health insurance provider to find out if this is the case for you.

Can I pay for my periodontal treatment in instalments?

Aware that the sums involved can be substantial, and to enable as many of our patients as possible to carry out the care required by their periodontal condition, our practice has set up a financial agreement system that allows payments to be spread over several months.

That’s why, after your initial assessment, we’ll give you a quote for your periodontal treatment. You then have the option of paying in 3 instalments: 40% at the beginning, 30% in the middle and 30% at the end.

If this schedule is not convenient for you, please contact our care coordinator. She will draw up a personalized payment schedule for your periodontal care.
